1. Counselling Supervision:
As counselling supervisor I aim to offer you a supportive and accepting environment, a space for
reflection where all
concerns which affect your work can be brought into the room.
My aim and concern is to offer you the support you need, whatever your experience, whether you
have been
a counsellor for many years, or if you are just starting out. The working relationship has to be
one of mutual respect and trust so that you feel comfortable and free to reflect and explore
your client work and also free to reflect on what the impact this work may have on you as a
person and as a counsellor.
The relationship has to be open and honest, where anything can be said and where we can
experiment
and be creative and work together for the good of your clients, for the good of your practice
and, importantly for the good of your own health and well-being.
I have 25 years plus of experience as an integrative counsellor. I have over 15 years of
experience
as a qualified supervisor, and before that I taught on Counselling Diploma Courses in Sussex and
North Hertfordshire. I have the knowledge and experience, but also the sensitivity and
understanding to work with you to ensure that the work is competent and ethical and to deal with
any legal or ethical issues which arise, and to ensure that you, as an individual and as a
professional are not left to carry difficulties, problems and projections on your own.
2. Clinical Supervision:
As a clinical supervisor I offer businesses a formal arrangement for staff to access regular
meetings to support
their emotional health and wellbeing. My work with trauma and complex trauma enables me to offer
crisis intervention for any staff who need additional emotional support to enable them to
continue working productively and effectively within your organisation.
Successful supervision offers an accepting environment which validates and supports. The agenda
will be the work, the feelings about that work and any personal issues that might impact the
work or prevent that person from carrying out the work efficiently.
Supervision ensures that as a person and a professional staff working are not left to carry
unnecessarily,
difficulties, problems and projections alone. If and when necessary, I can offer strategies and
suggestions for self-care to reduce stress and avoid burn-out and stress related absences
3. Group Supervision:
As a group facilitator, my aim is to create a safe and supportive environment, where we can work
together as a group to explore the work and where each member of the group feels heard and
confident to bring any issues which may be effecting their work. This is a place where we expect
to share and learn from each other, where everyone can feel validated and respected and where at
the heart of the group the intention is to improve our practice and to develop our competence
and confidence, but also for our own personal development and growth.
I have worked with groups within agencies, businesses, the voluntary sector and in private
practice.
Please get in contact if you would like to know more about any of the above.
